Richard Benjamin LEE passed away August 16, 2008 at the age of 86. Richard was born in Spokane, WA and attended North Central High School. He joined the Washington National Guard at the age of 19 and was inducted into the Army Air Corps. He served as a fighter pilot while stationed in the Aleutian Islands in Alaska. He was wounded in battle and received the Distinguished Flying Cross, Purple Heart, and the Air Medal for his service. He was honorably discharged and attained the rank of Captain. After the war, he graduated from the University of Washington. He retired from National Food Processors Association where he was Head Inspector in the Northwest Research Laboratory. He is survived by his wife Erma of 58 years; children, Eric Lee (Susan), Karen Parnall (Jeff), and Stephen Lee (Alicia); grandchildren Ricky, Ben, Danny, and Alan; nephews Robert and James. He is also survived by his sister Marjorie Huss (Kenny), nieces and nephewsMichael, Terri, Donna, and Richard. Also nieces Vicki and Debbie, daughters of decesed sister Bernice Vaughan. Memorial Service will be held at Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church on Friday, August 22nd at 1:30 p.m. where Richard was a long time member.
